One of my best friends helped me view gratitude in a whole new light.
Remembering her story continues to help me be more grateful and less stressed, even with things in my life that could be considered “bad” or “annoying.”
I won’t type the whole story out here, but instead will let you listen in as I describe her story and mine.
I hope our stories inspire you, as well!
If you have a story of gratitude to share, please comment below. I’d love to hear your stories and have them inspire me and my readers!
My evening prayers include those from an acronym from one of my favorite books: “Consoling the Heart of Jesus” from the Marians of The Immaculate Conception:
BAKER
Blessings (recall the blessings of the day; they are there, even on “bad” days)
Ask My asking prayer is from Padre Pio’s spiritual adviser: “O, Jesus; I surrender this to You; You take care of it.” I add “please”, and “Thank you”.
K I accuse myself of being a “Christ Killer” because of my sins. (I hate this when used as antiSemitic slur)
E I embrace your Holy Cross by which You sav the world. R Resolve to do better
Great to hear from you, Bill! I love the fact that you practice daily gratitude. Thank you for sharing that acronym – I’d never heard that before!
